About
Mike Talarzyk spent years around hydroplane racing as a volunteer and crew member before deciding it was finally time to get behind the wheel himself. Now four years into his driving career, the Evansville, Indiana racer competes in Hydro Lite and continues to push himself into more competitive Modified racing whenever possible. One of his favorite memories came at Celina in 2026, where he stepped into the A Mod field to help make the class and came away with one of his most enjoyable weekends in racing. Away from his own boat, Talarzyk also crews with the GP-15 Hopp Racing Team.

Behind the Visor
Talarzyk describes his style as conservative and measures success against his own goals rather than one particular rival. His focus is on starting and finishing races, improving every time on the water, and becoming a more complete driver.
2027 Goal
Race more in the Modified class when possible, continue improving his Hydro Lite performance, and explore an opportunity to race SST 45.
Away From Racing
A school bus driver and father of three boys who also help run Simi the Hydroplane Simulator. For Talarzyk, life tends to revolve around either school buses or hydroplanes.
